This was one special lady that is going to be deeply missed by all of us.
Obituary for Joyce Smith
Joyce Ann Smith, longtime resident of Shelby Township, died peacefully January 14, 2012 in her home surrounded by the love of her family. She was 64 years of age.Joyce was born in Baltimore, Maryland on March 25, 1947, daughter of the Isaac and Ethel Mae Lindsay. She was united in marriage to her beloved Randall Smith on July 10, 1965 in Temple Baptist Church of Detroit. The couple lived in Southfield until making their home in Shelby Township in 1976. Joyce worked for Crain Communications as a billing specialist for 24 years retiring in March of 2009. She was a Rainbow girl and an Eastern Star. Joyce and her husband, Randy, belonged to the Belvedere Boat Club for many years. Joyce enjoyed doing crafts. She especially loved ceramics and scrapbooking. Joyce loved her family and spending time with them. She touched us with her laughter and love. Joyce will continue to live on through our memories and hearts.
Joyce Ann is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Randall; dearest children, Cynthia (Paul) Tomczak, Laurie (Dave) Perosky and Steve (Jennifer) Smith; cherished grandchildren, Jessica (Aaron), Alexandria, Paul Jr., Christian, Isabell and Tyler; beautiful great granddaughters, Caylee and Chelsea; loving siblings, Isaac (Linda) Lindsay, Judy (Roger) Burgdolf, Johnny (Patricia) Lindsay and Janet (Gary) Carlson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be addressed to the Southeastern Baptist Temple of Gray, KY, RR1 Box 379. The church was founded by Joyce’s Family.
